Southwestern Riders – Orchestral Arrangement for film by Richard Wiegand and Ricky Molina is a music video showcasing the music composition and arrangement talents of Richard Wiegand and Ricky Molina, a songwriting team from New York and New Haven. We completed the production of a new orchestral arrangement called Southwestern Riders. It was written with a western film scene in mind. Picture a posse on the hunt for an outlaw or bandit in New Mexico or thereabouts, back in the 1850’s. The riders and the horses are parched from hours of tracking in the midday sun, as they turn down a slope towards a river at the base of a canyon. They have to camp out overnight under a blanket of midnight stars. The riders scale up mountains, descend into valleys and cross mesas with their sturdy, nimble horses. This orchestral arrangement is available on Pond5.com at: https://www.pond5.com/index.php?page=edit_item&itemid=91701226Thank you for your support. The music was written with numerous VST orchestral patches, including Vienna Symphony Library, Orchestral Tools, Orchestral Essentials, Symphonic Strings, Brass and Woodwinds. Effects like EchoBoy and Abbey Road Studio Reverb and Waves delay plugins were also used. Fine tuning the piece was achieved using Waves NLS analog console and tape emulations, as well as Izotope Ozone 8 (vintage EQs, compressors and stereo imagers come to mind). We hope that you enjoy the piece as much as we did making it. We’d also like to thank the artists who painted the southwestern rider scenes in this video, including J.Sorensen, Bruce Green, S.Cameron, H.Datze among others. Thank you.
